Paper Airplane Project





Activity Purpose- To see how well each type of airplane flies. We flew them by size and length. We categorized them by base size.

Activity procedure-
1. Same person made all the planes for their group.
2. The fliers for each group stood at the same place. They flew their planes. Then two people measured the length in inches.
3. Record the data on an organized table.
4. Airplane with no paper clips was called control. First variable was nose which had one paper clip on the nose. Second we had one paper clip on the back at the bottom. Third we had a paper clip on the middle of each wing.

Materials
8 1/2 x 11 (printer paper)
8 1/2 x 14 (legal paper)
8 x 5/12 (half sheet printer paper)
8 1/2 x 11 (card stock)
2 small paper clips

Plane 1 is regular printer paper


Plane 2 is 8 1/2 by 14 (legal) paper


Plane 3 is 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 (half sheet) printer paper


Plane 4 is 8 1/2 by 11 card stock
