I consider myself to be an experienced teacher, and a pretty good one, at that. When I have a parent ask for a grade sheet or send an email asking for a response or call me and want a call back, I tend to do it, within the day, if possible. While parents can be a major headache, most truly only want what they think is best for their kids. They're doing the best they can do, with whatever life experience and parenting skills they have. We need to make sure "misunderstandings" between schools are eliminated, minimized at best. This makes our job in the classroom much easier.
As a parent, I consider the same consideration from my kids' teachers I give my students & their parents. When I send an email, I expect a response in a timely manner. When I have my boys ask for a grade report, I expect it to be sent home. So why, then, do I have to send an email requesting the grade report after my son is told no? There's a teacher that is not going to want to meet with me if this continues. I appreciate having 150 kids a day, but guess what? I have that many students too. Do your job.
