Flipping Out!

I'm delving into the world of flipped classrooms. Well, not me, personally, but one of my colleagues. Actually, I'm dragging her through kicking and screaming, out of her comfort zone, into the future of education. Her 5th graders are just starting science fair, so we are doing the scientific method flipped. For those of you that aren't familiar with this concept, a flipped classroom is teaching the content in video form in the beginning of the unit as "homework" and bring the homework after the fact into the classroom. Knewton.com The Flipped Classroom is a good resource to explain this. As more and more school corporations go 1-to-1, this will and/or should become a much more popular form of teaching.

Stay tuned for updates, as they give up a little control of their teaching (and go kicking & screaming into the future of education)...
