The Decision to be Excited

We in the Blackford County Schools have been exploring various computing devices, with hopes of going 1:1 next year. In our meeting this week, we finally came to a decision to go with the Lenovo tablets using the Windows 8 OS. Good choice, as these devices are some of the most durable I have worked with in my fifteen years of teaching computers. I am excited, because our curriculum will be moving forward into the next generation of technology. I am excited because our students will be getting state-of-the-art devices to further their educations. I am excited because teachers that have done the same things for years will have to expand their teaching strategies to incorporate this technology, thus becoming even better teachers. I am excited because I hope to use my masters in EdTech Integration to it's fullest. I am excited, because teaching in Blackford County Schools is exciting right now, and I thank my administration for that.

PS ...I am also excited because my computer students are publishing their own newspapers, creating comics strips on ToonDoo, creating Prezi's, using cloud computing, using Edmodo and most importantly, working with technology more independently then ever!
