Apologies....

It's been a long time since I was able to get on here. Istep (WHEEE!!!) iRead (WHEEE!!!) and mclass progress monitoring have gotten in the way along with baseball season. Those that know me or have stalked me know I am an avid baseball person. Right now I ma coaching our middle school team along with helping the high school softball team IN ADDITION TO taxi'ing to hs baseball & travel ball. SOOOOO..... while I have been tweeting & retweeting, I haven't been on here much.
A tribute to Letterman's Top 10 (since we both graced BSU's halls)...

The Top 10 Things Floating Through my Head Right Now.
1. The state of Indiana and their new "standards" are a joke.
2. I love Edutopia.
3. Please don't judge or try to tell a teacher how to do their job when you are not yourself a certified teacher. Get a bachelor's, a master's and at least 5 years of experience teaching. I will then acknowledge your thoughts....
4. Did I mention I love Edutopia!
5. Got our 5th graders at Montpelier blogging last week. Our LA teacher had a great project for them to do while ready Bud, Not Buddy  so we took it to the 'net!I love integration!
6. Think I'm going to start blogging with my 2/3 high ability reading group when we get back. We're doing Peppermints in the Parlor  by Barbara Brooks Wallace. I love a good mystery, and so do they.
7. I love answering questions with more questions.
8. I love working with high ability kids and forcing the "good students" to get sloppy with gray (rather than black & white) reasoning and thinking. Outside the box is good and teaches them to learn from failures and keep trying, something they all to often are not familiar with.
9. Duke messed up my bracket big time.
10. Snow over spring break really hoovers.
