Writing Curriculum

I have the privilege of re-writing the K-6 computer curriculum. Change one is changing the course title form "Keyboarding" to "Computer Applications", since it isn't 1953. My goal is to lay a solid foundation of skills by the fourth grade, working the kids in basic use, reading a directory, application use & cross platforming. By fifth grade they should have the foundation to take their skills and apply them in a wide variety of settings. My first go round teaching computer (I'll call the 2 years of literacy a commercial break in my computer career) definitely accomplished this. By fifth grade they will be cloud computing and independently writing code. Because TECHNOLOGY!
